Inspired by Nike’s timeless Huarache series, the newest installment of Nike cleats is finally here. Introducing…
This is Nike’s seventh edition of the Huarache for the baseball diamond, and the 2K Filth certainly doesn’t disappoint. Also known as Nike’s Fireworks Collection, The 2K Filth is the first pair of Huarache baseball cleats to feature Nike’s patented Flywire Technology, common in Nike basketball and running shoes, to provide the lightweight strength, stability and support every player needs. The Flywire cables provide the 9-spike cleat superior comfort without adding any extra weight, keeping your feet light and ready to blaze the basepaths. The premium synthetic leather and mesh upper combined with the lightweight Flywire cables provide superior comfort and breathability, along with stability up to the ankle. The mid-cut design provides ankle support, yet stays light enough to effortlessly react to line drives and stretch those singles into doubles.
The Phylon midsole—foam pellets that are compressed, heat-expanded and then cooled into a mold—give the 2K Filth its lightweight profile. The Phylon gives the 2K Filth a firm base, which allows for quick responsiveness and dynamic explosiveness both on the basepaths and in the field.
Although the cleat is called the 2K Filth, the bottom will get anything but dirty; The 2K Filth has geometric divots on the bottom of the cleats designed to prevent any dirt or mud from collecting around the spikes, and thus prevent any extra weight from attaching to the cleat. Without any muck at the bottom of your kicks, not only will you stay fresh on the field, but you’ll stay fast and light without worrying about changing directions on a dime. The only thing filthy about these cleats is the clean, fireworks-inspired design that is sure to turn heads on the diamond.
The Nike Huarache 2K Filth baseball cleats will likely be heavily featured during the 2015 MLB All-Star Week by Nike athletes such as Andrew McCutchen, Felix Hernandez and Yasiel Puig. Unfortunately, the Huaraches are not available as softball cleats nor turf shoes.
